About MJ Security Systems
MJ Security Systems was established in 1985 by Michael and Jackie James after having gained considerable previous experience within the security industry. We are a progressive and successful company, who believe in providing top quality customer service and value for money.
Our services cover the whole spectrum of security protection, from domestic alarms, CCTV, Door Access Control systems through to the most recent highly sophisticated audio/visual industrial systems.
The company is based in Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire, and serves a customer base throughout south-east England, including the Home Counties (Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Hertfordshire, Surrey, etc.), Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire and London.
Our modern, custom-built premises include a state-of-the-art customer demonstration suite, where we can demo new technology solutions and explore how our product can best meet your security requirements.
As a registered NSI company and accredited to ISO9001:2000 all our engineers and office staff are security vetted. In addition, all administrative and engineering procedures are designed in accordance with NSI/ISO9001:2000 requirements. To validate continued registration, we are subject to 6-monthly audits, where a random selection of installations is validated. Most recently, MJ Security Systems achieved Platinum Level of the Cooper Security's Touchpoint Partner Programme.
As a company we invest in training to ensure all our engineers receive product familiarisation, together with in-house training courses run in conjunction with Scantronic and other suppliers.
To summarise, MJ Security Systems is a growing, well-established business with a loyal customer base. A high percentage of our business is from repeat business and from recommendation by our existing customers. We are small enough to treat customers as individuals, but with the technological expertise and NSI assurance of a large company.

"MJ Security Systems Awarded National Security Inspectorate (NSI) Gold"
"Leading Bedfordshire security firm, M J Security Systems, has passed a new installation standards inspection by the National Security Inspectorate (NSI) with the highest possible rating. MJSS was awarded gold status in the tough new six-monthly audit by the National Security Inspectorate.
Founded in 1985 and set up as a company two years later by owner Michael James, MJSS has expanded steadily in the past 19 years. It now has a workforce of 12 active across a territory stretching from the Midlands to London.
During the first few years sales were mostly won by subcontracting for larger companies but the firm now has many end user customers of its own. It has built a strong reputation for installation of reliable cutting edge technological products in the fields of intruder alarms, CCTV systems and door entry/access control.
Contracts range from bells-only alarms and small one-door entry controls up to much larger installations. Customers for CCTV camera systems include petrol stations, distribution depots and car showrooms. Sites can be remotely monitored from the MJSS central station and – if outside sensors are activated – an operator can give a warning message via loudspeakers on site. The operator can also close or open gates and control lighting. MJSS computerised door entry systems can serve 200 or more entrances. The firm can also install intruder alarm systems favoured by insurance companies for high risk commercial premises. Michael James said 'More complex alarm systems offer 24-hour monitoring and activation recordings, which are acted upon as necessary.
The company has always been based in the Dunstable and Luton area and for the last nine years has operated from Edward Street, Dunstable. The firm bought its offices three years ago and has incorporated a showroom where state of the art CCTV and monitoring systems can be viewed.'"
